Print Design Poster Series
A personal project developed while at George Brown College for the course, Advanced Imaging.
Ask: Create a poster series that adheres to a common theme, and leverage original, self-made textures.
Design process
Development
Being a music lover, the thought of designing band/music posters is usually top of mind. Conceptualizing each poster as a different element from western culture (air, earth, water, fire) and some from eastern culture (void, metal, wood), I associated musicians correspondingly—basing elements on similarities in musicality, genre, and attitude to the artists. I created various textures using ink, watercolour, paint, photography, and digital patterns; adapting typography and colour to each theme.
Execution
The result is a series of print/digital posters that use typography as a way to unify the series, while each individual poster takes on characteristics of the artist and element it represents.
