Personal Project: This anthology was a personally directed project meant to be a manual for George Brown College’s course “Ideas & Images”, which focuses on educating young designers about critical ideas, as well as alternative modes of thinking. The project became an anthology of the weekly topic/”big idea” exemplified through musicians. The aesthetic is based on IKEA instruction manuals, illustrating three icons or “tools” that relate to that musician, which the reader would hypothetically use to “build” each artist. The handwritten lyrics, illustrations, and short instructions are meant to play off one another, each relating to that page’s big idea.
